Our Work

Being self employed and self managed we organise our own work. Working in different pairs, we learn from each other.

We have two meetings a week: a practice meeting where we discuss allocations and other practice business. We also have a clinical meeting/reflective session to share experiences, worries and look at developments and research in midwifery.

There are two non midwives in our practice who provide support and administrative help to enable us to concentrate on the midwifery without having to worry about the day-to-day running of the practice. The Albany midwives feel that this support is integral to running a successful and popular caseload practice.

We have our own premises; being based in the community we are visible and accessible. We have 12 weeks holiday during the course of a year plus 4 additional weekends and one night a month.
