Antenatal and Postnatal groups

Albany Midwives The antenatal and postnatal groups are free and open to all women in the area, not just the women we look after, based at Peckham Pulse.

There are two antenatal groups, one for women only and an evening for women and their birth supporters if they wish to come too. They are 'drop in' groups so that women can come as often as they wish and the agenda is flexible and dictated by those present on any particular occasion. Discussion around relevant issues is encouraged. We use visual aids, including birth photos, to illustrate the birth process. After they have had their baby, women are encouraged to come back soon after to tell their birth stories and show off their babies!

The postnatal group enables women to meet each other and talk about their huge variety of experiences. They make friends and support each other. The groups are facilitated by a midwife which gives us another opportunity to cuddle a baby and catch up with the women.

Antenatal groups Tuesday 1:30-3pm women only.

Thursday 7:00 to 8.30 pm birth partners welcome

Postnatal group Tuesday 1.30-3pm
